Default Who Has Seen The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel ?

I waited for this to come around to theaters in the area, but I was disappointed. I thought it was too long, too sappy, and the acting wasn't that great either. It needed editing badly. The same Slumdog Millionaire star was also the young star in this movie, and I kept thinking I was still watching SdM, cause the movies were similar. If you saw it, what did you think???

I was very disappointed as well. A superb cast of usually fantastic actors lost and wasted on a mawkish and almost farcical script, too many cliches and generally a let down. No way near as good or as funny as it thought itself and a real shame. Pretty to look at but lacking in any substance or real humour. A completely missed opportunity, the film had no warmth and no real heart. I didn't think it was bad it just wasn't good enough. Pleasant to watch but leaving you feeling rather dissatisfied.

Some of the reviews weren't kind, either.

Oh well, maybe this will convince Dame Maggie Smith to stay with 'Downton Abbey' (there have been rumors )

Funny, this was on the morning news last week. The trailers they showed didn't scream "Box Office Smash" and Dev Patel's acting seems a little "fake" in this movie. I'll wait til it's on HBO or Showtime.

That's too bad. It is unusual for a movie to come out about seniors, featuring seniors and not just as older people and their younger family. As a 55 yr old I'd like to see more more movies in my demographic.

I saw it and loved it. Had a smile on my face the whole time. I'll see it again when it comes out on cable.

We saw it last night and enjoyed it. Fabulous cast...especially liked Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. The "getting old" issues are a little sad and depressing, but it's interesting to see how an individual's attitude trumps all.

I saw it last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought the cast was fantastic, they were an eclectic bunch and performed well in their roles and brought a lot of spirit into the movie! The seniors were full of life and it didn't appear sad and depressing to me at all, if anything they were motivating and rejuvinating!!

Two thumbs up!
