Not being sarcastic but how can you respect an actor or anyone that you really don't know anything about other than their movies and interviews which is generally for PR?
I respect their acting abilities and specific performances. I never mentioned respecting their real personalities (as if I could even meet dead people in the first place).

Nicholas Cage is my favorite actor and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

While he does do a lot of crap but, when he is paired with a good director(Herzog, Coen Brothers, Jonze) he is amazing.

Jessica Alba Great actress that really has the strength of her moral
convictions. You don't see that very much anymore.

That is cool that you actually had the opportunity to "chat" with them long enough to have an idea and I am not surprised at all with those actors.

And no, when you say "respect" an actor, I didn't automatically assume it meant their work. If that is the case then why not just use the verb "like"?
Perhaps I am an odd guy but using the word "respect" for the work an actor had done (in front of a camera), never occurred to me.

Sorry that I am not sharp enough to read between the lines.

I met a few but I took the question as respecting their acting and professional abilities. Anything wrong with that ? Can't you respect some actors for their skill in their chosen profession ?
