We tend to praise risk takers who succeed, denigrate the ones who don't.
I sat through Chapter 27 and thought it was awful. But then again, I don't understand why anyone would want to make a film about MDC anyway. I will say though, Jared Leto was pretty impressive, but that's only because of his transformation. I found it interesting that in the final credits, it doesn't identify him as MDC at all ... hmmmmm.

That's looks disturbing.
I agree that society has a tendency to praise those they perceive to have succeeded and denigrate those they feel have not but I tend to view the journey itself as a success regardless the outcome. That he did what he did is of itself very impressive to me. I just think it's sad that he died, but not what he attempted and succeeded at.
