Default INto the Wild by Sean Penn

Has anyone heard of the new movie Into the Wild by Director Sean Penn...
I sent for the book...it is a true story...apparently since Penn read the book, he wanted to do the movie...

I'm looking forward to it...

I started a thread about this book over in the "Books" section.
Right now, I feel comfortable saying that this is the greatest book ever.
Not really, but I do love it.
I'm excited about the movie - I didn't know Penn is involved.

Lemme know what you think of the book.

Here's some info on the movies. The article from Sunday's NYT is good.
I forgot to post the link over on the book thread.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/16/mo...gewanted=print

thanks so much....I really love Sean Penn, everything he's ever been in as an actor....well, let me just say, he's to me, equal to Anthony Hopkins....Penn is exceptional...I love him....hmmmm, think he'll come to dinner?

Yes, I'm excited about the movie.....

check under fandango, or moviefrone...do a search and when you get into the site, type in your zip, and it should show you what movies are playing in your area...you can also do a search by the movie, although, I think it's only in limited theaters this weekend.

I had read the book years ago and saw the movie yesterday.

LOVED IT! Cried like a baby; wiping my eyes with my sleeves.

The soundtrack was perfect.

Great job Sean Penn!

The sad thing about this book and movies is that you and I know that there will be some Macandles wannabes out there that come to Alaska and think they can live off the land. It is tough living up here and this book will bring the masses to Alaska. That'll be good for tourism, but I hope and pray that no one else dies like this fool.

Maybe you guys should get together and write a book about the hardships of living there....

I mean it...serioulsy....I'm certain there are times when it is well worth it..but as in life, there is always a trade off and never a perfect world...

Lest we forget the childhood innocence he possessed...as we all did at that time in our lives...before society got their grips on us...yanno?

I believe that is why he had a riff with his parents, they were trying to wake him up to the fact of reality...and he just wouldn't have it...I remember that time in my life well...

anyway, just thinking out loud.

hugs
creme
