Ever since I shaved my head a few months ago, guys at school say I remind them of Doctor Evil from the Austin Powers films. I've never seen them and they say I should. I looked it up on the net and apparently they're a parody of James Bond and spy movies. I haven't seen many spy films, and I've only seen one James Bond movie in my life (Die Another Day, which I only have a few blurry memories of).

Do you guys think I would enjoy the Austin Powers films even though I won't understand much of what they're parodying/referencing?

There are a lot of references to the culture of the 1960s that you may not get or understand. To older people, those references are pretty funny, but I don't know if you, assuming you are young, would get them.
Overall, I think the movies are funny, but I understand the humor too.

Austin Powers himself is funny for about 5 minutes. After that, he's just obnoxious.

But Dr. Evil is AWESOME. One of the all-time great movie characters. He makes the movies.

I've never heard of anyone choosing movies on the basis of their hair, but perhaps you'd like The King and I or Anastasia.

I never knew Austin Powers was a parody of James Bond? Either way, why not just watch it... ?
