How about one from each:

Aunt Pitty "Yankees in Atlanta? How did they EVER get in?"

Mildred Pierce

Ida (the estimable Eve Arden): "Veda, you're sitting on the Laguna Beach statements"

Veda (she's still alive - Ann Blyth): "Oh that's what I like about you, Ida. You're so delightfully provincial"

Ida: "I like YOU, too!"

Butterfly McQueen is in both movies!
Oh yummy

I love that Aunt Pitty line. Did you know Scott F. said of the book, "I felt no contempt for it but only a certain pity for those who considered it the supreme achievement of the human mind."

GWTW online

And Eve Arden just CRACKLED in MP even if she was a little subtexty

Uh...have to paraphrase

"You got the silk dresses and the mills and the store and the money, and you give yourself airs like a fine race horse. But you ain't nothin' but a mule in hawss harness, Miss Scarlett, and that Butler man is jus' the same as you!"

"I like Mexico. It's so Mexican."

I've probably already posted 2 or 3 times on this thread, but it being the political season I always recall the "city council meeting" scene in Blazing Saddles; "Gentlemen gentlemen, we've got to do something to protect our phony baloney jobs", and of course; "I didn't get a 'harrumph' out of you-watch your a**".

I've considered buying the paddle ball thingies by the gross and any time any politician does anything over the line, be he local, statewide or federal, mailing one to him. But I decided that I would just go broke buying "toys for tots" by doing that!
