My all time favorite movie The Notebook- I am nothing special, just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who's ever lived: I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough.

My second favorite movie Hope Floats- Beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up and it will.

The final quote from American History X:

"We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, we must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of meaning will swell when again touched, as surely they will be by the better angels of our nature."

This will probably be moved to Entertainment. Here are a couple I like.

from Local Hero:
[Mac is buying shampoo]
Mrs. Wyatt: Dry, normal or greasy?
MacIntyre: Normal. Extra normal.
*************************************
Rev. Macpherson: You want to buy my church?
MacIntyre: Not as a going concern.
*********************************
from Dazed and Confused:
Cynthia: God, don't you ever feel like everything we do and everything we've been taught is just to service the future?
Tony: Yeah I know, like it's all preparation.
Cynthia: Right. But what are we preparing ourselves for?
Mike: Death.
Tony: Life of the party.
Mike: It's true.
Cynthia: You know, but that's valid because if we are all gonna die anyway shouldn't we be enjoying ourselves now? You know, I'd like to quit thinking of the present, like right now, as some minor insignificant preamble to something else.
Mike: What everybody in this car needs is some good ol' worthwhile visceral experience.
