Haven't been to a movie threatre in years... just nothing much I would pay that money for. AND I don't have the time, I barely watch TV...
I don't understand and have been wondering: so the shooter was able to prop open the emergency exit so he could leave and come back in with his weapons? Aren't the emergency exits rigged up with alarms or something when they open out? What is to prevent kids propping open the exits to the outdoors to sneak their friends in? I know the ushers in our theatres growing up were all over this old trick.
Wouldn't just putting alarms on all the exits to the outside work?

That's a very good idea. Apparently, there were no alarms on those exit doors and I'm surprised that more kids don't sneak in. Maybe this tragedy will awaken theater owners to a new awareness.
We don't find too many movies to go to either because I don't like action fliks or violence. But I read the reviews and every now and then there'll be a very good one. Actually we saw 2 good ones this month. Sometimes a good movie can be very thought provoking.
I don't know your age, but movies were a big part of my teen and early 20's years, so it brings back nice feelings from that time to be in the theater with the popcorn smells. It's too bad that the Aurora shooting has scared some people. I guess this will be like the "shoe bomber." Something will be forever changed.
I haven't, but that's just because I haven't had the time. I think it's nuts to worry about getting caught in that kind of freak event. Anyone who worries like that should never get into a car again. I think I'm going to a movie on Wednesday.

BTW, I haven't been to a modern 3-D film, so I was wondering, if somebody is walking around in front of you with guns while an action film is in progress, doesn't it just look like really good 3-D?
I went a couple of days after the shooting in Boulder, just 45 miles north of Aurora. There was no security at the cinema but it felt emptier than usual. I didn't feel unsafe at all.
Yes, I went opening weekend to TDKR, in fact. I had a plan of what to do in case of a nutjob shooting up the joint.
