Movies I liked when I was growing up (now I'm dating myself lol):

1. Grease
2. Dirty Dancing
3. Shag

Or pretty much any movie that involves dancing, summer, and a bygone era of clothes and hair. Not the best movies in the acting or script departments, but that's not why I watch these particular movies. They're just feel-good childhood movies.

As for movies I like as an adult, that's a different list, but those just aren't the same as the tried and true childhood favorites. I didn't include obvious ones like Mary Poppins and the other great classics, because who doesn't love Mary Poppins and the classics?

City Lights
Random Harvest
A Patch of Blue
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
Princess Mononoke

In fact I watched Princess Mononoke last night, and as I was watching I thought, "I could watch this movie once every few days and never tire of it." It actually gets better every time I see it.
