I have Netflix streaming but honestly rarely find what I want to watch. Most everything I want to watch seems to be on discs only. So then I don't even check if something new is out.

So I thought well, maybe we could help each other out, like with the last movie you watched thread which has given me some tips.

Please say a little about the movie you watched if you can. What genre, whether you liked it or recommend it.

Bernie is a new arrival and I'm watching that now. Has a good rating on Rotten Tomates.

I watch a bunch of tv mystery series (Poirot, Wallander, Inspector Lewis, Midsomer Murders, etc.,) but as this is the movie thread the last few movies I watched were:

The Muppet Movie -- pure childhood nostalgia. Hare Krishna jokes! Tons of 70s celebrity cameos! "A bear in his natural habitat--a Studebaker." Love, love, love.

Coriolanus -- Directed by and starring Ralph Fiennes, also Gerard Butler and Vanessa Redgrave. One of Shakespeare's Roman plays set in a modern, almost Balkan locale. It's Shakespeare, so make of that what you will.

Life in a Day -- Documentary made from amateur footage recorded all over the world on a single day. Pretty cool.

I'm watching 1970s era Sesame Street right now. I've forgotten how awesome they were.

Also, documentaries about ballet (ie., First Position, Ballerina).

I catchup on TV series I missed: Breaking Bad and TopGear UK. Movies I like to see over and over again: Apocalypse Now, Glengarry Glen Ross, Out of Sight, etc. and a whole lot of documentaries, including ESPN 30 for 30 series.

I think I saw "One Step Beyond" available on Netflix or Amazon - not sure which, but I plan
on watching them again.

I think you can get "Black Swan" on Netflix if you haven't seen it yet.

A fabulous family movie is "Searching For Bobby Fisher" which is based on
a true story.

My kids use Netflix every day for their kids shows. I canceled my cable a week ago because I was going to use Netflix and Amazon from a streaming Blu-Ray. But the cable company called me the next day after I canceled and offer cable added from the same price as my internet so basically free for 6 months with HBO. So basically cable for the next 6 months UNTIL I call to cancel again.

I do love me some Netflix though. I watch something on Netflix nearly every day.

I mostly watch BBC and Masterpiece Theater series and that sort of thing. This year I watched all of The Tudors, Bramwell, The Forsyte Saga, Doc Martin, and am now watching Foyle's War.

I throw in a movie or two now and then. This week I watched Sherry Baby (pretty good story about a young mother and recovering drug addict trying to become responsible enough to regain custody of her daughter), Machine Gun Preacher (got so so reviews but I thought it was very interesting), and In the Land of Blood and Honey (excellent movie about the siege of Sarajevo).
