Anyone else see this movie. Several scenes were very emotional for me, but the one scene involving the three brothers was extremely emotional. Maybe because I have two brothers myself and can imagine that situation

I heard it was very good. I am curious about the chemistry between Mcgregor and Watts. They are both good actors but for some reason they seem mismatched to me viewing the trailer. Anyone?

Yeah well they arent really on screen much together since the tsunami washes them away from each other. 90% of the movie is them trying to find each other

yeah what Skel posted.

I thought the teenage actor stole the movie. I know Watts was nominated for an Oscar and she was good, but the biy was better.

I saw this yesterday and hope Watts gets the Oscar. What a movie. Very moving and emotional. Hard to imagine how they made it with all that water flowing, trash all over and that dirty hospital. Its a wonder the (real) mom made it out without dying from an infection.

It was an extraordinary film with an exceptional performance by Naomi Watts; I'm extremely delighted that she was nominated for an Oscar.

She's an exceptionally fearless actress to put it mildly; her forthcoming portrayals of Princess Diana in 'Diana' (due in the fall) and Marilyn Monroe, in a film simply entitled 'Blonde' are two films I'm really looking forward to.

I watched this movie in October or November, it is very emotional and the performances are really good. It was gripping and fast moving for me.

AMAZING, shed a tear for the first time since Braveheart! Watts, the Lucas character and McGregor were all amazing! Deserves a LOT more recognition.

As someone said, they don't really play off each other much. There is some small interaction at the beginning of the movie, and by the time he finds her she is almost dead. The primary relationship is between the actors playing the mother and the oldest son. From descriptions by the actor playing the son, playing the part was so emotional that he has developed a deep and lasting emotional connection to Naomi Watts in real life.

It is a difficult movie to portray because there are no real protagonists. There is a tourist who reacts out of self interest, but his comment: "Look around you, everyone here needs something... I have to think of my own family" is brief and not really evil. The protagonist is "the arbitrariness of nature".
