I have it on my harddisk so I'll watch it tonight.
I like the name: Hard Candy.

You may be surprised

It was a different flick.

There are only about 5-6 people in the whole movie.

Let me know if you squirm through it ! LOL

True. It is bad, well at least in my opinion.
The characters have no inner struggle so there's barely a connection with the viewer. It sure does not have the same quality as The woodsman with Kevin Bacon or Secretary starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. Maybe that is because Hard Candy has no known stars (at least to my knowledge) or maybe the story just sucked.
Anyway I found it a waste of time. If you haven't seen The Woodsman or Secretary I'd see them instead. Better story, better dramatisation and better actors.

I woke up in the middle of this movie, and had to watch it again.

Thought it was odd to say the least.

Thanks for confirming

I thought there was a thread about this before?
Can't remember.
Well, I thought the movie was well worth watching.
I definitely saw some inner struggle going on.
I did have to watch the end again, I had to listen to the dialogue and review what happened there.
One thing: I talked to lots of men who either hated the movie or just didn't much care for it. The women--they were much more forgiving; they were intrigued at worst, outright enjoyed it at best.

I don't think the husband was a paedophile. Bacon perceived him as a paedophile because he was so focused on not being a paedophile. I guess he was projecting his desires on the husband. So it was Bacon who had these feelings and therefore in danger of acting on them, not the husband.

I enjoyed Hard Candy. Not something I would watch over and over, but I did appreciate it.

I do agree though that Secretary and Woodsman are better films.

Love these types of movies.

Me 2.
I luv movies that trick me into using my brain instead of the usual Hollywood spectacles where thinking isn’t even required.
I did dig Mr. Brooks with Kevin Kostner and Demi Moore, especially because I'd written them off a long time ago. But in this case I'm glad to be wrong.
