I knew there was someone they were forgetting, and it's TWO that should have no excuse for the omission. That's horrid. But, by golly, they made sure that the film editor was included.
Both were tv actors, not movie actors. I agree that both were great actors, but I can understand the leaving them off the list. There are plenty of crossover actors, so it isn't as though they didn't make active choices to stick with tv. I'd be happy for someone to convince me otherwise, but with film titles and facts, not just "they shoulda been.."
Both Larry and Larry have done films.Off the top of my head Larry was in Fail Safe, The Group and In Harms Way, and Andy Hearts Of The West, A Face In the Crowd, and No Time For Sergeants, among others. These were feature films not made for tv movies.
I agree that the opening twenty minutes especially was painful to watch. I began to wonder if it was being made intentionally bad so that the muff-ups later in the show by drunk recipients wouldn't stand out as much.

I generally really like Seth McFarlane, but this just is not the right venue for him and his style. He is a really good singer, though!

Yes but they did make some movies before they hit it big on TV and it shouldn't matter "when" they graced the big screen. It's as if they punished for moving on to TV (successfully at that).

Fair enough. Oscars are all about Hollywood politics anyway. Brando had about the best idea. Buy the bottle, stay at home, send a proxy. (She was real, BTW, contrary to media blather)
