I'm resurrecting an old thread here, but we just saw Rendition and thought it was underrated. The critics weren't too kind to it, which kept our expectations low. It definitely surprised on the upside.
I really loved " Good Night and Good luck" one of my favourite movies last year. Quite a relevant subject. Was "Syriana" any good by the way ? I never got to see it but am thinking of f renting it.
I would highly recommend both Syriana and Michael Clayton. Both are thinking movies. If you was a lot of car crashes and jokes they are not for you. They are both worth watching more than once, as I picked up things in both films that I missed on the first go around.
I've seen 'Michael Clayton", and liked it very much. A fine performance by Clooney and the rest of a very good cast.
Did not care for 'Rendition", and no interest in seeing " A Mighty Heart."
In A Mighty Heart she is portrayed as some sort of a hero, but from what I have read, I prefer Ted Rall's Mariane Pearl, a money grubbing whiner who even attempted to get money from 9/11 Compensation Fund: Ted Rall Editorial Cartoon, April 12, 2004 on GoComics.com
I liked Michael Clayton even though it was a little predictable. I enjoyed the performances. A good performance can make up for a slightly lackluster story for me.
