There have been lots of good remakes. As a child of the '80s it may be heresy for me to state this, but: The original Robocop was not that great. It wasn't horrible. But it's hardly a classic. It was cheesy '80s flick that most people remember fondly more for nostalgia than because it was a good movie. If a remake can improve on it, giddy up.

The trailer doesn't actually look that bad.

I am guessing that and the SUX 6000 won't make it into the remake.

I totally forgot about that car until now. One scene in the trailer had Robocop stepping down from a vehicle, Maybe an SUV type or combat type truck.

The commercials and the fake newscasts really added to the cheesey flavor of those movies.

Yes it did. The sunscreen commercial in the first one was funny, Sunblock 5000. Looked more like paint then sunscreen.

Here in Toronto, we were very HAPPY that Robocop was made here. Including my son who was busy as the dickens for 9 months, working on the project. He also went out to Vancouver BC for a month, to work on the shoot out there, as well. Made his year, in a financial sense. About 450 Toronto based crew worked in the production of Robocop 2014.

Toronto is the largest move and TV production location in North America, after Hollywood, with seven major studios, and over 100 reality TV shows are shot and produced here, each year.
