Oh yes! I actually watched it first by myself then had my husband watch it with me a second time. Did you read about what happened to the lion guy after the film?

. ---WARNING SORTA SPOILER ALERT---

Shortly after the film his truck "stalled" on the railroad tracks right by his house & he was hit by a speeding train & killed. Just by his reactions in the film, I had wondered how he would've coped without the lions. I guess he didn't.

Oh, man. I'm so excited I found this forum. I have been watching so many documentaries lately; I'm addicted. I have kind of been just watching ones that are highly regarded and on top 10 lists. If anyone has some obscure ones, I'd love to hear about them.

Just a bit of advice, see if your public library has some documentaries. I have seen many without having to pay for Netflix.

I'm hoping this one is available on Netflix soon.
Because I really really like Chicken Wings!

They also do a time lapse shot of the bridge for a year and it's shocking the amount of people who jump off it.

I saw the documentary. You might like the nonfiction book "The Final Leap" about suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge.

I don't know about Netflix but these are my favorite documentaries:

1. Night and Fog - Made by the French in the 1950s. It's about the Holocaust.

2. The Bridge - Suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge

3. Waiting For Superman - The sad state of the failing public school system in the US.

4. Children of Beslan - Russian school children talk about the school seige where 350 adults and kids were killed by Chechen extremists after being held hostage for 3 days.

HBO's new documentary Children*of Beslan*is brilliant, but bone-crushingly sad.

5. George Harrison: Living In The Material World The best Beatle in my opinion. This is a very thorough and interesting documentary of Harrison's life directed by Martin Scorcese. Tons of people interviewed, music and good footage from the early days of the Beatles until Harrison's death.

6. Capturing the Friedmans - The strangest and most disturbing documentary I have ever seen. The investigation of Arnold and Jesse Friedman for child molestation.

Capturing the Friedmans - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

7. In Memoriam - New York City, September 11, 2001

You can watch it on YouTube.

8. Birders: The Central Park Effect - Probably not for everyone but this documentary was so amazing to me as a person who photographs birds as a hobby...who knew, about the variety of birds in Central Park (and the people who watch them)? Not me.

Birders: The Central Park Effect - Rotten Tomatoes

I just want to say if you have HBO and Xfinity, go to HBO On Demand. Select Specials and the Documentaries. You may be able to still see the George Harrison one this week.

I have no idea what's currently on Netflix. I haven't had a subscription for a year or two, but I enjoyed and recommend the following powerful documentaries that were all on Netflix at one time:

Forks over Knives
Food, Inc.
Tales from the Script
This Film is Not Yet Rated
Waiting for Superman
Waste Land
Craigslist Joe
