Twenty years now I believe and the remake of Logan's Run is something I'm still waiting for. I'm a huge fan. I loved the original, I loved the series, and I can't wait for the remake, but the project can't seem to get off the ground for various reasons.

For those of you that might have never heard of it, Logan's Run is a science fiction movie from the 1970s about people that live in a domed city of the future and everybody is under the age of 30. I don't want to give any spoilers, nor is that a quote, I didn't want to give a description that might be copyrighted.

The special effects of the day weren't bad. However, with a modern day production I think the effects would be pretty kewl. Is anybody else waiting for this cult classic? And what other remakes either announced or not you are waiting for or would like to see?

I love that movie, and Jenny Agutter is easy on the eyes. I'm hoping to find the DVD to add to my collection.

Loved the original, and don't like remakes in general. Pretty freaky when I saw it as a teen.

Great '60s SF flick. The remake has been stuck in development hell for decades. I'd love to see a remake, but I'm not holding my breath.

Honestly, I'd rather see it as a TV series than a movie. Lots of great material to expand on with this story.

Was there an older version? I thought it was released in 1976; the one with Michael York? I did love this movie and saw it several times in the theater.

You're probably right. It was '70s. If it was '60s, Jenny Agutter still would've been a kid.

It was. I hope they don't remake it, since there doesn't seem to be much success with remakes lately (e.g. "The Great Gatsby," "Carrie"). It was a classic.

It's kind of a cult classic though, and I think it would be good to see it produced with a big screen budget. I usually hate remakes too, but this one would be neat to see.

Carousel begins!

didn't they kind of do that with the movie The Island in 2005?

Agreed. Logan's Run is a great movie for its time, but it was a movie of its time and therefore has some pretty glaring warts. It still suffered from the idea that in the future, society would be clean, and everyone would wear flawlessly laundered tailor-cut clothing, and don sparkly little miniskirts. Apparently dirt and grime have been entirely eliminated from the future, even in dystopian collapsed societies where everyone has to die at age 30.

It would take STAR WARS a couple of years later to show that science fiction societies should still have a "lived in" look.
