The original was on TV last night and I was able to sit through about 30 minutes of it. I stand by my original assertion: The original ROBOCOP is actually a pretty bad movie. Peter Weller is great in it. Sadly, he's the only thing good in it. The rest of the movie (acting, dialogue, plot, effects) is really, really terrible.
I saw it today. Glad I didn't opt for IMAX, not necessary to spend the xtra $ .
intersting concept of just what we are (consciousness or physical being) ,good acting,(whoa, Michael Keaton has not aged well) Gary Oldman and the actor who plays Murphy were very good.
I was in a 'going to the movie mood' and this fit the bill, nothing else new I was interested in, this is drought time at theaters, but I didn't find it at all 'terrible' No oscar for this one but a good ,popcorn Saturday afternoon show. I found it entertaining not near as terrible as you all are expecting.
Robocop should have been what Deadpool was, with less poo poo humor and no X Men, I know the actor from Robocop is now in the Suicide Squad movie, does anyone know if there will be a sequal to this Robocop?
I missed this one, Though I loved the original. The original was a big success that spawned 2 (though inferior) sequels, A TV show and various toys. It was also known for the satirical commercials. Robocop even showed up on WCW wrestling to rescue String from a jail cell!
Never once have I seen the remake on cable though which is interesting.
I rented the remake through Netflix. What a forgettable, uninteresting remake.
Especially if you seen and like the original, skip this disappointing flick.
