Wow! This was first movie I thought of when I saw this thread title. Can't believe anyone else remembers this movie. I was going to post it, but I see you've already nailed it in the first response. This movie is very '80s. It is cheesy and downright weird, but it has a unique storyline and some memorable scenes, namely the scene at the end. The monster is trying to attack the rocker guy and he says, "This dude's into metal." Ultimate B movie.

The first Jeepers Creepers was something of a little known cultural phenomenon, because horror was DEAD at the time. The 90's were largely a bust with watered down, ten friendly crap like Disturbing Behavior, The Faculty, Valentine, Urban legend...and it wasn't making any money.

The Jeepers Creepers came along and set some sort of record (memorial day opening for a rated R film, or something like that.)

The second I found a bit disappointing, and oddly homo-erotic with guys standing around checking each other out whiles talking a **** and this sort of thing.

Not that I have anything against gay people, the depiction of the average everyday teenage male was a bit strange.
