And 2007 is not quite over yet so I haven't seen Will Smith's new one ... I Am Legend.

'300'
'Ratatouille'

and maybe 'Transformers' or 'Smokin' Aces' or 'Bella'...

Here's a list of Box Office Domestic Grosses:

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?yr=2007

Looking at that list, I think that almost all of the movies released this year were terrible.

Whether it's been a good or bad year for movies is kind of subjective. Looking at the top grossing movies, it seems to me they're geared toward a younger audience - Spiderman, Shrek, Transformers, Pirates, Harry Potter - or else they're comedies.

Though there are a lot of fantasy movies I like, I'm more drawn to straight drama. Maybe I'm getting picky in my dotage, but I didn't come across a lot of movies in those categories this year that stood out.

Those are all summer releases, so of course theyre going to be targeted for a younger audience. Most summer movies are. And as for Harry Potter, they tend to alternate seasons between releases, next year its set to be released in November.

A lot of movies were let downs for me. They just didnt live up to their hype IMO, with the execption of a few.

I think I remembered my third movie now though, Disturbia. I didnt watch it on the big screen unfortunately, but I've seen it twice and I liked it a lot.

Oh, and I also liked 300 a lot. Also it depended very much on special effects. The guys were yummie and it was nice though.
