I just watched it too. The story and effects were good, and the time travel loops definitely made me think,
however........
I had a lot of trouble understanding the dialogue at many points, where the music would drown out the people talking. It wasn't helped by Matthew McConaughey' s constant mumbling and drawling. I had to keep replaying scenes, saying "what the hell did he just mumble?" He just drawls on in a monotone without interrupting his speech with inconvenient things like consonants. If you're going to have an actor that talks like that, fine, but stop blaring the music louder than the dialogue when he talks. Help us out a little.
So true. Great movie, but all the important dialogue is drowned out by the music. Just saw it again on TV, and I honestly considered putting on the closed captions.
Just saw it over the weekend. Even though I am not a fan of MM , the movie was great. Very deep, and sort of numbing. At first it comes across depressing but over all it portrays hope.
I love Science fiction but generally despise the time travel thing but this was not really about time travel so it went over really well. The whole 5th dimension thing was sort of cheesy but how else could it have played out. Other than MM , I thought the cast was great and he even did a good job.
I got a little bored at times with this movie, I think the acting, plot and story is pretty good and the fact that you can be on a planet for 20 minutes equals 5 years on earth is very interesting. Overall was good, but wish some scenes would of been shorted.
I'm with ya. Some of the commentary earlier on in this thread that just showered praise made me want to see it, so I rented it. I just expected more. It was OK. But I won't rewatch it before it goes back to Red box. J actuly liked MM better in Reign of Fire. Lol
I liked it, I loved the time aspect of the movie too (reminded me of the book the forever war) that said the movie wasn't over hyped for me(which I think can sometime ruin a movie for you) , I didn't go into the movie thinking it would be amazing because a few people I know who watched it and didn't like it.
I need to watch this again. Saw it on opening night in Australia on the world's biggest IMAX screen, and I was half-drunk at the time. But I remember it being awesome.
