it is sad that people's sex/love lives are so unthrilling they need to see this to get some tittilation--
voyeurism to the max...
won't be going
didn't read the book either

I think it is just sad that Jamie D has had the two biggest roles of his life playing a guy who either kills women as a sexual sadist or employes s/m play w/a sexual novice---
he is not going his career any help...
and Dakota Johnson--she won't be able to rise above this schlock for long time--especially if she does a sequel
Her mom had horrible time rescuing her career after a bad early move
but don't think the daughter has talent--Melanie DOES however

Sounds like an else-world version of the story or a take-off that you may see on Lifetime in a year or two that was "inspired by" this book and movie as well as real life events. I am calling it already. We'll see a 50 Shades like movie just as you described on Lifetime by mid 2017 the latest.

LOL, according to the TV Listings, Lifetime already aired one a few months ago (before the new Lifetime owner declared he's "looking for a new audience" , but I digress).

I'm not seeing it either lest it stir up carnal desire ...but, I think it is
a fun movie for people and may stir up ideas for those that
don't watch porn ...or have settled into a rut...stresses of work and kids can change things for so many.
In my younger days...I had hooks drilled into studs all
over my bedroom for all sorts of play....and all sorts of soft things to tie.

Dakota has such a qualude personality ...even on SNL 40 yr celebration...
I think she is very attractive and different from all the perky
young actresses out there all smiley...I believe she will go far for
that alone...her sultriness is hot for the screen.

I never feel 'sad' for anyone...I also don't pity anyone... it's a tricky
judgment trap of the ego/mind that we all have...
everyone is in their perfect place in their development, imo.

All I had to do was read about a few of the gross scenes that even the producer decided not to include in the film to give it a "yuk."

Sounds like 50 shades of physical/sexual/psychological abuse, humiliation, degradation, ......

I agree. And add me to the many other creative women who 1) aren't "in a rut" and who 2) don't need to see this movie or read the gar-baghe dreamed up by an obviously unfulfilled writer.

Don and Melanie are whacked out? I think of them as nice, fun people.

Geez, I think some of you are taking it way too far. It's like your obessed with making this movie a failure. Well it's grossed over 80m it's opening weekend, thus not a failure. We get it, you don't like the books or the movie.

I would rather hear from someone who has seen it, since this thread is talking about the movie itself verses people are on a warpath to let us know how much they disapprove. WE GET IT, spend your time on some happier threads if this isn't your boat.

Don and Melanie are whacked out? Really, that sounds so judgemental...

The book was popular with middle aged, bored housewives. Most people will be disappointed in the movie and feel they wasted their money.
