Its a 70s and 80s movie and its about a family who is targeted by the feds and @ the end of it,this guy prints up EVERY TRANSCATION THEY EVER HAD AND THREW IT OUT INTO THE STREET.... (Revenge, etc) I think its the IRS...

The only lyrics I remember are this

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that crazy bastard is throwing all kinds of paper into the street" (With ppls account #s on it,etc)

The husand says to his wife when he is done doing this (he comes back outside) "There gonna be straightening out there own lives for awhile they wont have time to worry about ours"

His wife asks "Are we safe??" and the guys says

"Safe?? -- we dont exist...I wiped our records off the face of the earth" -- And the wife says "JEFFREY YOUR A GENIUS" and he said "Well I have been trying to tell ya that for years" and then the kids get up from hiding in the back seat of thier car and they drive off....... (Movie over)

Thats all I have left on VHS,i taped over the rest of it........

Anyone have a clue??

The Daytrippers (1996) - IMDb

But that's probably too recent; the description you gave made me think of Anne Meara for some reason.

Is Jack Lemmon in it, or do you remember any of the actors? Was it a comedy? Chevy Chase comes to mind, but I don't recall anyone named Jeffrey. "The Money Pit?" "The Goonies?" "Cheaper by the Dozen?" "With Six You Get Eggroll?"

No and I would like to bud!!!!!

I think the guy was fired or something and he got revenge on them..... Kinda sounds like the movie I just got yesterday HOPSCOTCH (1980) but I dont think the guy was Walter Matthau...

Its:
Improper Channels (1981) - IMDb

Alan Arkin is a really smart architect, who is trying to convince his wife Mariette Hartley that he still loves her and their kids.
Through a series of circumstances, (not his fault fender bender), he is mistaken for abusing his kids.
Several overly protective child services social workers abuse the system, and take the kids away from the parents.
Now working together against the common enemy, the parents fight the bureaucracy, and the husband finally wins by exposing the workers by printing out all their excesses and tossing them out the windows.

I'm pretty sure it was never released to DVD, but it's available used VHS (or videodisk):
Amazon.com: Improper Channels: Movies & TV

I knew the answer right away, as I loved the movie and had watched it several times.
(I have several friends who are architects).

I had taped this off TV onto VHS years ago, but said tape was misplaced during a move.
So I'd been looking for several years to find a digital copy to replace it. (IE: It was on my radar).

I also loved the scene where he has an 'elegant' solution to the highrise office buildings ground level courtyard hurricane problems.

I'm glad I could help. I'm a big-time movie lover too.
Though I do prefer digital, as VHSs tend to kink and deteriorate and go out of track.

RE: The link. I guess I could watch it via Amazon, but not for free, as you have to join their streaming service. And the YouTube link was actually for an audio song someone uploaded, "Improper Channels" by Crying Room, no relationship to the movie.
