Why not destroy a city's outlying suburb? At the very least it would make a tidy little statement about the evils of pandemic suburban sprawl. Have the monster be a monolithic Paul Reiser, cluelessly trompling over housing developments and ripping the tops off fast food restaurants; all while attempting his comeback comedy monologue: Something about six degrees of luncheon meat.

Why not some backwoods appalachian town? I can just see Godzilla stomping around in Kentucky or Tennessee uprooting all the mobile home parks while the mullet militia try to stop him. Can you just imagine the subtitles? "Hey, Bobby Jake, what you make of that big green thang out thar? You think my huntin rifle would take it down? You still got that homemade potato gun in yer shed?"  |
