What city would you like to see destroyed in a movie?
I know that this question might seem kind of dark. There are a lot of movies in which NYC is destroyed coming out now (I am Legend, Cloverfield) and it has been done countless times in the past. I was just wondering why it's almost always New York? I know Tokyo has also gotten its fair share, but let us know what other city in the U.S. would be cool to see destroyed in a movie and explain why.
My pick would be San Francisco. It's got the Transamerica Pyramid building, and the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges that any monster would love to play with and mangle. The hills and bay would also provide a great background and hiding places. And can't you just picture the monster picking up the trolleys and flinging them around? Plus, Godzilla could make it to SF way easier than to NY. Those victorian houses would be so pretty to stomp on and what about a shot of the monster rolling down Lombard street? Of course you would have the people in Chinatown screaming and running around as an homage to Godzilla. Everyone would think it was an earthquake at first. The possibilities are endless!

I hate to say it because I love Chicago, but you basically take out the Sears Tower and what have you got left? Don't get me wrong, there are other things there, but how many that most moviegoers would recognize? I am already fearing the backlash from this post. Oh well.

Destroy Southern California. From LA all the way down to San Diego. Down here it's all ego-maniacs, plastic Hollywood types, rude yuppies, mindless drunken idiots (who are also usually plastic Hollywood types too) and other personalities that are only contributing to the world in a negative way and are better off dead.
So-cal is fueling a money-frenzy and a world of shallow celebrity BS that we are all better off without. Maybe it'll bring America a little more back into reality (not reality TV, but ACTUAL reality).
When you come down here you'll see how out of control it really is. Escape Southern California, and watch it go up in flames in the rear view mirror! HAHAHHAHA. I can only dream.....
