The original.......and then Christmas............and then Vegas followed by the European one. The new movie is garbage, doesnt even register on the scale.

1. Christmas Vacation
2. Original Vacation
3. Vegas Vacation
4. European Vacation
5. New Vacation

Christmas Vacation has so many great scenes such as "Merry Christmas, Sh***er was full," Clark's Bonus, and the Christmas tree burning down. I also get a kick out of seeing a young Johnny Galecki as Rusty. Cousin Eddie is definitely the best character in this franchise. Most of the quotables seems to come from him.

I saw the new Vacation in the theater. I thought it was great and there were tons of gags paying homage to the original Vacation. However, it doesn't compare to the first 4 where Chevy Chase plays the main character.

The original Vacation has stood the test of time IMO. So many hilarious scenes including some epic scenes with the late John Candy.

I loved European Vacation back in the 80s (R.I.P. Dana Hill), but I don't remember very many of the scenes from it. Vegas is more recent and so it's slightly more memorable, but neither one is the classic that the Original or Christmas Vacation are.

In order

Vacation
Xmas Vacation
(these two are so close...)
.
European Vacation
.
.
.
.
Vegas Vacation (didn't like it at all)

Not bothering to rank the new one bc it has nothing to do with the originals.
