unfortunately I heard rumors they are planning a remake of Back to the Future starring Justin Bieber as Marty.
That rumor came out in 2010 and since no movie has materialized yet I'm pretty sure it was false.
One reason I feel like this series might be safe is the MJF factor. I don't know anyone who dislikes MJF...who could they ever get to fill those shoes?
My wife and I watched all three BTTF movies this past weekend. It was a bit sobering to think that, not only did we see the first movie (and the best) when it came out in 1985, but we were both alive in 1955 and lived to see 2015.
I wonder if they chose that original 60-year span (1955-2015) out of homage to Sir Walter Scott, who was the one who declared that 'historical fiction' (which he basically invented) must take place at least 60 years prior to the year the novel is written. Science fiction writers thereafter turned that rule on its head, and the normal rule for science fiction is that the setting must be at least 60 years from the date of the novel.
Just a thought. I realize that the third movie went back to 1885, but it always felt to me that this movie was 'added on' as an afterthought, to take advantage of the success of the first two movies.

That 3rd movie is almost painful to watch.
On a side note: I was watching Family Guy the other day and they did a BTTF joke where the dad tells his wife "don't you think I noticed that our son looks exactly like the guy who set us up" lol I thought that was hysterical because I never thought about that.
interestingly enough BTTF2 and 3 were written together and were filmed at the same time. I remember when Biff guested on Letterman to promote 3 and when he said that BTTF 3 was set in the old west, Letterman laughed and was like "What? How the hell did it end up in the old west??"

It had it's moments but it just didn't do it for me like the first two. The flying train was cool when I was a kid but when I watched it a few years ago I was like "gee this is corny".
I loved the ride at Universal though. I wish they had just updated it instead of replacing it with the Simpsons. Same with Jaws & King Kong. I know they wanted to add new rides but those were just such iconic movies (in my mind) I want them to last forever.
I saw all three of the BTTF trilogy in the theater. I'll save my money if JB is starring.
I'm with you!
