I enjoy the superhero flicks being produced, and some of the comedies are just OK, but I think Hollywood could do well with a few more relatively low budget bios.
I think there are a lot of people who have lived interesting lives. Here is one I would like to see a biographical movie made.
Joseph Beyrle
101st Airborne, World War II - jumped into France on D-Day, was captured by the Germans, was wounded by straffing Allied planes while in captivity, escaped and was recaptured, escaped again and was shot and wounded and recaptured, was tortured by the Gestapo, escaped again and made his way to Soviet lines where he fought for a month in a Red Army armor battalion, was wounded yet again, met General Zhukov in a Red Army hospital while convalescing, who secured his passage to the American embassy in Moscow, through which he was repatriated. Greta Garbo. Probably the most elusive/mysterious Hollywood star ever. When she first arrived in Hollywood, she had crooked teeth, permed hair, and was considered overweight. But then the Hollywood star-making machine transformed her into this: http://images5.fanpop.com/image/phot...-1354-1735.jpg
And then she eventually bowed out of the movie industry and became a recluse. She was also said to be a bisexual.
If Hollywood ever does make a movie about her life, I hope that the person who plays her will at least look like her. I hate it when the person in a biopic role looks nothing like the person they are playing (e.g., Denzel Washington as Malcom X).
Teddy Roosevelt. Boggles my mind there hasn't been a miniseries about him. I know there was a Rough Riders movie in the 90s but that's it. The guy's life is practically a frfranchise in itself.
