Another atypical high school film (with the protagonist in Junior High), is Todd Solondz's Welcome to the Dollhouse (1995). It just made my top 10 anyway.
High school was an awesome time in my life (Andress High El Paso, Texas) as I guess that's why I still enjoy films about it and so I'm curious as to what are your top 5 High School films?
I'd forgotten about Dazed and Confused (awesome 70's music soundtrack) as it's kind of an modern version of American Graffiti and a great throwback of the mid 70's style in that film.
That's actually a college film. A very good one, though.
Well, technically its a post high school summer movie. As it begins the boys have just graduated HS and are discussing their plan to do nothing all summer.
