JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS

OK, take a poorly made and badly written bad cartoon from the 1980s that somehow lasted for 65 episodes, and make a live action movie out of it.

I don't suffer from any delusions that this will be a good movie, but my inner 80's child is squealing with glee!

It sounds like it could be good but in a Netflix or Hulu way. They aren't doing the double life (I guess Hannah Montana poisoned the well.) The look of the Holograms doesn't look bad.

Nope! What a complete mess this movie is. I grew up on Jem and the Holograms and this is NOT Jem and the Holograms. They turned what was a creative, inspiring, glitzy, funny, encouraging cartoon into a teen drama. I refuse to see this drivel.

How can this movie exist, yet we still don't have a Thundarr the Barbarian movie?

No holograms (I'm referring to the actual projected holograms, not the band members), no Synergy, no Misfits ... This is NOT Jem & the Holograms.

Someone on another site said it best ... "It looks like High School Musical had sex with the Lady Gaga episode of Glee and aired it on ABC Family."

I was hearing Kesha but yeah. As I said, it is a Netflix movie. Not in a bad way but I just don't feel compelled to see it in theaters.
