What's wrong with people being excited with a movie? There are die-hard fans of just about any media.

I would rather be excited over a possible good movie than say college basketball or politicians.

Some people get exited and arrive a tad early to the theater to get a ticket.

Why I'm No Longer Sorry I Camped Out 6 Weeks for Star Wars: Episode One

That's a bit extreme, But the excitement is understandable with several original cast members and the possibility of redemption from the last 3 awful ones they had. The trailer was great. Loved Luke's voiceover.

The fact is you no longer need to camp out and can instead just pre-pay for the tickets. I did just that with the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Indeed. And then just get there early to get a good seat. Best time to go is first showing on a weekday.(If possible) I remember seeing the very first show for the Phantom menace in the shopping mall. Was not even a full house surprisingly and it was a small (And run down) theater.
