I think it is likely that Yondu is Starlord's grandfather. Remember at the beginning of the movie where Starlord's mom says his grandfather will take care of him, and we all assumed it was that older gentleman who came out into the hall to get him right? But of course that guy clearly didn't take care of him and Yondu, who just happened to be waiting on that very night to pick up the young Starlord, did. First by not letting his crew eat him and second by raising him and essentially making Starlord his second in command when he reached adulthood. But you say they were hired to pick up Starlord right? Except the crew clearly thinks Starlord wasn't turned over because Yondu was ripping off a customer he disliked. In that case why not let the crew eat him? I can't think of any legitimate reason a starship captain would keep around an eight year old for the heck of it.
Furthermore, Starlord's mom describes his dad as being "an angel." At one point Yondu describes himself as being "pretty as an angel."
I think you might be reaching on that one. Remember Nova Prime said that Starlord's DNA is something ancient (removing my idea of it being Mahr-Vell aka the original Captain Marvel) and unless Yondu is something ancient, that don't work.
