I rented it yesterday at redbox, $1.65.

That movie was awful, it wasnt worth the $ 1.65. I heard so much about it on TV so I been waiting for it to hit the box. I can see why it didnt win many awards. You could tell it was just a propaganda movie, telling one side that i feel had no facts to it, maybe 10%. I always enjoyed history/ documenty/ education type movies but i could not even finish watching this one. It was like a hate movie.

I wanted to watch it because Selma up the road couple hours and i never been in that area. I am disappointed in the way they told the story. I hope somebody else comes out with a better movie on the same subject.

Sorry, but I'm going to strongly disagree.

It was a disappointing movie, yes, but certainly worthwhile, and although I'm no history expert, my impression is that overall it was fairly factual. It was, of course, a biopic, designed to show the situation in the best light - but that doesn't make it propaganda. One difference may also have been between seeing it first run, versus on a small screen at home - and it doesn't help that you didn't even finish watching.

This is on my list to rent still. Not sure yet but will update when I watch it. I also enjoy movies pertaining to history or true events.
