Yeah...what was up with that guy? Was the killer forcing intervenous drugs on him? And why the air fresheners hanging all over the place? I still haven't figured that out.

I may never know which movie it was since nowadays the TV stations don't play a variety of stuff - just the latest junque Hollywood has been cranking out. I think the oldest horror movie I've seen on TV recently was House on Haunted Hill (and not the 50s version, the one with Ali Larter).
So back to my mystery horror movie - if I remember correctly, the male lead, when he discovers the child in the barrel, admonishes the mother as if she had done it (I believe he had gone down to the cellar and she followed him down there). Hopefully that helps spark someone's memory!
Could it have been "Burnt Offerings'?(1976) I remember Oliver Reed starred in that-so did Bette Davis.
The Shining wins this hands down, with IT being a very close second. Penny-Wise is the reason I hate clowns even to this day. King gave me nightmares for years, but I kinda enjoyed the fright!
Does anybody know the name of the horror-thriller filmed at Thomas Jefferson High School, Richmond, VA about about 10 to 20 years ago? If so, please email me at user905596@yahoo.com
I'm not a horror fan, but those horror films that I do like, I love. They are:
Psycho (1960)
The Birds (1963)
Rosemary's Baby (1968)
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
The Exorcist (1973)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Jaws (1975)
Halloween (1978)
Alien (1979)
The Shining (1980)
The horror genre tends to demand perfection in every facet of filmmaking to produce a quality product. The wrong music, camera angle, cut-point, lighting, pace, etc. can instantly diminish the effect of the viewing experience, and those listed above, I believe capture horror at it's best, where everything came together just right.
And it only took the likes of Spielberg, Polanski, Ridley Scott, Kubrick and the almighty Hitchcock to pull it off.
