Christmas Movie
I have been looking for a Christmas movie for about 25 years now. I don't know the name of it. It was probably filmed in the 30's or 40's. It's about a millionaire who goes to Europe every year for Christmas. Hobos sneak into his mansion and take over. The millionaire suspects someone has been in his home and stays home one year. He disguises himself as one of the hobos. If anyone knows the name of this movie or who stars in it I would greatly appreciate it.

Christmas Movie
I came to this forum looking for exactly the same answer you seek.
Saw the movie when I was a kid over 50 years ago, but nobody else has ever heard of it. I seem to remember a hobo coming into a mansion thru a back fence in the snow.
It's vague now, but doesn't he invite many other hobos to the place for the holidays.
Is he like a well cultured fellow and the others think he's the owner?
May have that part confused with another old movie.

Thank you for answering. Every Christmas season I go searching for this movie (It's almost an obsession). A few people I have run across have seen this movie but also don't know the name. A friend of mine remembers the hobos throwing tomatoes at the millionaire's chauffer and his car. then placing one in his hand. When he throws it at his own car there is a smile on his face. I do remember the back fence. At the end of the movie there is a note attached telling the hobos to use the front door next year.

Allen,
You must have a very good memory, or you've seen the movie since I did.
Don't remember the tomatoes, but will take your word for it.
I must have been impressed by the movie as a kid, because I have also looked for it for years.
I hope it isn't one of those "lost prints" that has disintegrated over the years while in storage.

Wow, this movie sounds interesting - I'll join you all on the search!
Sounds Preston Sturges-y...or maybe something they put Wm Powell into after my Man Godfrey?

Thanks Colorado,
You know, that could very well be the movie!
Wonder why it's not listed on the otherwise good lists of Christmas movies?
Somebody alert TCM!

Thanks for thread. Am always looking for good older Christmas movies, in keeping with the season.
