This movie has been remade in recent year with Mel Gibson as the anguished father
And sort of set the premise for many similar ones like "Silkwood"--
I thought this movie would have gotten more attention but while I saw it first-run, I think it did poorly at the boxoffice---
I guess most people at that time didn't want to know how bad, dangerous the government was...
And stil don't although distrust of government has grown and become more off-the-wall because people choose to believe weird conspiracy theories vs more factual evidence of corruption/self-interest...

While it isn't thematically unique, Rage has not been remade. I'm not sure which of Mel's recent movies -- Get the Gringo, Edge of Darkness, Blood Father -- you're connecting to Rage.
