I can't remember how many times that I have been intoxicated by the appearances of a young starlet. Alas....it would seem that their highly lucrative careers are often rather short lived. For example, Braveheart prominently featuring Sophie Marceau. Her international fame pretty well disappears after the 1999 Bond movie..."The World is not Enough." In her case, it seems that she decided to stay in France and participate in much, much smaller movies.
It may seem that the film world is kinder to male stars who were able to leverage their good looks at a young age? Clint Eastwood...Arnold Schwarzenegger...William Shatner for example.
It's pretty routine for women to be discarded once they lose their "bloom."
Women with long careers, like Meryl Streep, are the exception, not the rule. Maybe it helped that she wasn't a siren.
