I had to shut it off after about 20 minutes. Could you guys help me understand why people like this movie (Mad Max the Fury Road)?

It has no plot, no humor and no character. It's just a bunch of mad men chasing each other for something I can't understand.

Are you talking about the new one or the original? I haven't seen the new one yet.

The original MAD MAX is a horrible, horrible, disgusting movie. Just awful.

The original ROAD WARRIOR is a great movie. One of the best action/chase movies ever --- although you do have to turn off the logical part of your brain for large parts of the plot to make any sense at all.

BEYOND THUNDERDOME was a silly sequel that never should have happened.

I have no idea. I watched the new one that won all those awards and thought it was a silly waste of time. Just awful.

It was a solid film. For a movie with so much action, it was 100% real stunts (no CGI), which is rare now a days. Charlize was great. Just an overall strong action movie.

Did you not pay attention to the Oscars Mad Max won?

Best Costume Design, Production Design, Makeup & Hairstyling, Film Editing, and both Sound Mixing and Editing.

Mad Max is one of the best looking and sounding movies ever made. It may not be for your tastes but I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't be able to see the massive appeal to... others.

I guess I just don't like watching a bunch of mad men throwing crap.

If you don't "get" Mad Max (any of them), there's plenty of entertainment out there. Myself, I love these movies. The Road Warrior and Fury Road are spectacular. Even Beyond Thunderdome has merit.

I personally think a movie needs a story to make it worth watching, much like a house needs a good foundation. You noticed that the awards were for anything else but story related? That should tell you something. It has good make up, sound, etc, but there's no coherent story AT ALL!
