This is really good news. The trailers looked great and I was hoping Wonder Woman would deliver. The good reviews just keep comin', that makes me happy.

Mild spoilers if you care about that sort of thing. In short: Great, great movie whose only real flaws are too much CGI in the finale and a lacklustre music score.

Review: "Wonder Woman" - Dark Horizons

Steve Rose of the Guardian didn't like it, but I'm not sure I understand why.

He said it fails to break the "glass ceiling" because it suffers from the same flaws as other DCD movies...apparently he doesn't understand what "glass ceiling" means, if in his opinion neither Batman nor Superman broke it.

I don't know what his "weaponized Smurfette" means, nor do I understand what he means by "her defence-based fighting style." As far as I've seen from the trailers, maybe by "defence-based" he means she gives them a chance to surrender before kicking their butts. Well, that pretty much is a "hero" requirement. Kinda like Billy Jack: "I'm trying to be a man of peace. Please don't force me to kick your butt. I'll feel bad afterward."

Is Wonder Woman the first woman in superhero movies to wear reasonable fighting footwear?

I was thinking while watching the trailers, WWI which means they are not Nazis so the movie doesn't have the advantage that Captain America had in going up against an unquestioned evil cannon fodder troops

Being supermodel tall has its advantages. No need for movie magic of a pair of boots makes high heels combat wear

Joe Bob Briggs summary of Billy Jack: "I am gonna teach these people about peace and love if I have to kick every ass in town!"
