I like Tom Cruise (Risky Business is probably my favourite movie with him) ....... I just dont like all the remakes.. THEY CANT LEAVE PURITY ALONE......... They gotta make what was SEMI GOOD (1999) even worse!! (It wont be any better than the 1999 one you can almost guarantee that!!)

It's not so much Cruise it's more about another remake.

Tom Cruise is a joke. I know people enjoy his movies, but I cannot stand him or his acting.

Which I don't understand at all. There have been some great movies over the years that were remakes. And there have been a lot of "original" movies that were awful. In the end, the only thing that matters is the quality.

When you go to a restaurant and order a hamburger, do you complain when they serve you cooked ground beef between two buns? Or is that what you really wanted all along, albeit one of high quality?

Yup.

Say what you will about the guy's personal life (and he is a fruitcake), but there is no doubt that Tom Cruise is a genuine movie star. He can act, given the right script in the hands of the right director. When Cruise is in bad movies, it really isn't the fault of Cruise or any of the other actors. A bad movie is nearly always bad because of the writing and directing. Even the best actor in the world can't turn bad writing into good writing.

I can't recall a decent remake in years that I can honestly say that I've liked better then the original. Most of us here have said how bad Ghostbusters 3 is going to be. And I believe you were included in that.
