Who else liked this movie? I read online that many don't. But I did. I think it's a great movie, and creepy. Every time I see it, I walk away thinking how quality it was.

Thought it was terrible myself, but maybe if one goes into it knowing that it is Hollywood taking everything that was good and unique about the original and turning it into a typical hollywood-made horror flick one can appreciate it for what it is....

From what I can remember, I enjoyed the sequel. But only when I separated it from the original in my mind.
It's a decent horror movie that had to ride the coattails of a much, much better one to get produced and distributed.
And I only say "decent" because I remember being pleasantly surprised. I did not expect much.

Mmmmm...I was a big fan of the original...BW2 seemed almost like an entirely different movie. It was okay, but I would not have even seen it if it hadn't been associated with the first.
Did they ever come out with a BW3? After the original came out, I had read online they had 2 more being made, but I never heard of a third one coming out.

.
Exactly... Big time Hollywood basically bought the franchise and added their glitz and special effects and an annoyingly loud soundtrack and commercialized it to such an extent that it bore ZERO resemblance to the original except for the basic backdrop/setting.....

The first one was clever, the second was a typical "make a sequel" money-grab IMO.

I don't believe part II got the recognition it deserved. Maybe someday it will. It's still one of the few movies I own that will make me want to turn on the light, and I'm a die hard scary movie guy. I know that sounds stupid, but it's true. BW2, while much different than the first, was a great movie with a great cast.
PS- The goth chick still catches my eye

I give it credit for not revisiting the same home made video format (which, in itself, was somewhat of a copy of the infamous "Cannibal Holocaust") and making a movie, in effect, on the influence and effect of the first Blair Witch on the public. So that was novel.
It's been a couple years since I've seen it, but it was somewhat entertaining, and the goth chick was pretty hot.
