I wouldn't go to the movies to see it but definitely will watch it when out on DVD. Fan of tom hanks and I absolutely love movies based on true/historic events - if the movie is made well and keeps your attention.

Can't go wrong with Tom Hanks. He is one of the few modern day movie stars, who I think would have made it in the golden age. He is very American, and reflects for me, the best of that country to the world.

Bird strike, plane lands safely, the end.
Except that's NOT the end...the movie continues with the investigation by the NTSB.

In reading some of the reviews, I was surprised there was an investigation that actually focused on the Captain's course of actions. Sure, I was familiar with the story because it was huge news at the time, but didn't really follow the story much after.

So it will be interesting to see what happened.

I like Clint Eastwood movies....for the most part. He has a discipline to his film making that is rare nowadays. I had to laugh at a critic who accused him of having white man persecution complex. Well, whatever, I need someone to tell some white man stories. I need all points of view. This movie was well acted and carefully scripted, but over all was quite dull for me.

I agree. Saying that the movie was about the flight and ditch is not understanding what the plot of the movie is at all.
