Star Trek is four times better than Star Wars yet gets 1/4 the box office. Are most people just mentally challenged?

This one has to be better than the last one. Without Abrams around to turn into an unofficial Star Wars film, it has to be somewhat better!

Saw this last night. Meh.

Not bad. Just thoroughly mediocre throughout.

The cast is great. It looked spectacular. Paper-thin villain. No character development. Some REALLY bad dialogue in places. No gravitas. The movie felt like one long action scene where I didn't care about who won.

Meh.

Hulu has this. And I tried watching it the other night, but had to stop halfway through because it was so boring and pointless.(Although, I saw the whole movie at the theater.) Also, that whole sequence when all those little bee hive ships attacked and destroyed the Enterprise was just a big mess.

P.S. Plus, unfortunately, the writers of all the Star Trek movies can't seem to write an epic space movie.

DISAGREE!!!!!

I saw this film in theaters last summer and loved it. Maybe it was the theater experience (and not on tv). The audience I was with was cracking up with the characters banter -> especially McCoy's comment to Spock about him giving his girlfriend a gift that allowed him to keep tabs of her whereabouts- hysterical!!

The problem with the new Trek films was that they needed to quite rehashing stories from the original trek movies and start doing their own stories. In this film they did. I also loved the tribute to the original cast.

In summation great film. I don't get the all the MEH opinions.
