Joe Manganiello To Play Deathstroke In Ben Affleck's Batman Movie - Heroic Hollywood
Quote:
DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns has revealed that True Blood star Joe Manganiello will play Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke in Ben Affleck’s Batman movie. Johns officially confirmed Manganiello’s casting in a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal.
Affleck, who’s currently shooting Justice League in London, shared a video of the villain on his personal Twitter page last week. The actor has been working on the script of his standalone Batman movie with Johns for the past year or so. The project doesn’t have an official release date yet, but it’s expected to hit theaters in 2018.

I had to Google that. When I read Joe Manganiello, my brain imaged "Joe Mantegna," and thought: What a weird casting choice.

LOL! Mantegna. He's on Criminal Minds now. He's, uh, a LOT older.

Yeah. He's a fine actor. Nothing against him. But for Deathstroke? No.
Now that Joe Manganiello is Deathstroke, I'm kinda hoping they find a role for Pee Wee Herman. Those two make a great team.

I did see that yesterday. Having said that, and being a fan of what Miller did with Batman in the '80s, I have complete faith in Ben. He'll give us the best Batman movie yet.

I dunno. In BvS, there was one perfect Batman moment. The rest was just horrible. Somewhere in the past 20 years, directors seem to have gotten the impression that what makes Batman cool are the gadgets and tech. Judging from the photos released so far, it doesn't seem to me that Affleck understands it any better. I hope I'm wrong.
