I only made it 35 minutes out of sheer forcing myself to watch it this long. Boring, boring, boring. Pitt's character is one-dimensional and boring, boring boring.
Yes, Brad Pitt can actually be bad in a role. Always pretty, but not always a good actor. Think back to Troy. God, he was bad in that. Great butt scene where we get to see his naked butt. Only redeeming thing.
My guess is that people not only didn't go see this movie because of some possible bad reviews, but people are mad at him for supposedly having an affair, while married to Angelina Jolie. I admit, I didn't really want to watch him on screen with a woman he supposedly had an affair with.
Plus, I think a lot of people are really burned out on WWII movies. I know I am.
Pitt is not really a good "actor"
He just manages to get roles that fit his personality and don't require a lot from him--
Meeting Joe Black is movie that fits his God-like beauty but pretty ineffective acting skill
And Ocean's movies--
He just has to act cute and smart--and that's not asking a lot
I give Owen Wilson credit for TRYING to act in some of his choices
Not always successful but he has had some success going against type
And totally agree that part of this movie's lack of box office was the rumors--
Don't think they were true really--
Maybe some woman but not the costar who supposedly has strong relationship with father of her child
This movie just had a bad, bad script--
Too convoluted for most people and Brad Pitt just did not fit that role---
Any man that handsome (beautiful?) would likely never been used as a spy because he would be TOO MEMORABLE...
But when has reality ever intruded in making a big name movie...
Pitt is just making some really bad choices--maybe because of his nose candy issue
