I figure it like this. If the TV ads for a movie make me say, "Ugh," the movie is not for me. After all, the movie people/advertisers promote the film with the best scenes (in their opinion) because they want you to buy a ticket. If that turns you off, the rest of it must be worse.
I haven't seen it yet, but I feel like it's going to be like Moulin Rouge, which I thought was agonizingly bad but everyone else seemed to love.
