Because remakes are not good today!!!!! (They are all made using reprogrammed robots who cant think,act,etc......... All they can do is follow someone elses GOLD and make it crap AND THEN THINK ITS GOOD OR BETTER!! (Its what they have been programmed to do since the 90s when the reprogramming started -- EASY CONTROL FOR THE ELITE))

That's a comfortable distance from the production for Scott. We don't want him to show up in an interview years later to voice his strange interpretation of Fancher's script.

The recent improvement with Star Wars has given me the confidence to give it a chance, but not get overly optimistic. I won't go in thinking it will match the original.

If its bad, let it......wash away, like tears....in the rain.

That's like saying, "Pizza isn't good anymore!" While it's certainly true in some cases, the real truth of it is: Depends on who is making it. TV's remake of FARGO is brilliant and far better than the original. Jackson's KING KONG was great. There have been lots and lots of great remakes over the years --- some of which were better than the original.

And this isn't a remake. It's a sequel. I am hopeful that BR 2049 will be good. Hampton Fancher, who wrote the original, is writing this one. Denis Villeneuve is directing. That's a good sign.

The thing that makes me most nervous is the involvement of Ridley Scott, who never seemed to understand the genius of the original. He seemed as baffled as many of his critics. Scott is the most brilliant visual filmmaker of his generation. But the man wouldn't recognize a good script if someone locked it in a safe and dropped it on this head. He has no story sense.
