Same here. They tried the make it feel like the original but missed the mark.
The first 2 were epic. 3rd installment was inferior but had interesting, likable characters even though they were convicts.
Prometheus had no likable character, couple of unique ones but overall it was a big "meh" for me.
I also didn't care for the giant octopus looking alien at the end.

I'm looking forward to seeing Jussie Smollett on the big screen instead of just on Empire. But I hope they get past the Black guy always dies cliche in this type of film.

I can't believe Danny McBride is in this .... SMH. Everytime I see him I think "Pineapple Express", "East Bound and Down" or "This is the End"

F**k, James Franco's also in this! I couldn't believe it either when I saw those two, I had no idea they were even in it in the first place.

That trailer tells me nothing. It's a mash up of all of the familiar Alien components. But where is Noomi Rapace? I really liked Prometheus. I would put it (for me) ahead of Alien 3 or 4.

I'm really looking forward to this.. though to be honest, I don't know if I should. Prometheus was.. let's say mediocre (an euphemism), McBride and Franco are great in stoner comedies but here ? Still, as someone who has seen Aliens close to 30 times now, I simply have to see this, even if it is cra... I mean, even if it's as well written as Prometheus was

My thoughts exactly. The "Prologue" they released didn't exactly fill me with confidence. It struck me as trying way too hard to "be like ALIEN." Way too hard.

The xenomorph looks a little too CGIy from the trailer. I hope they can fix that before the release.
I wish they would focus more on the world building in this one. We don't really need another colonist vs alien movie.
