I was dragged to this by my daughter who didn't want to go alone (her husband wouldn't go), I honestly was not expecting to like it at all ( I wanted to see Logan). While I thought the original to be the best of the 1990's animated Disney releases, I really expected this live action thing to be corny.

I absolutely loved it, in my opinion it is perfectly cast, the music is wonderful, and in 3-D, it was, well, visually, for lack of a better word, enchanting. I didn't realize how good the songs really were, and was quite surprised at the vocal ability of Dan Stevens in particular ( who sings a song not in the original, but beautiful non the less).

Go on skeptics, you'll like it.

Not a fan of Emma. Just like I wasn't a fan of Snow White, Kristen Stewart. Both are below average actress and both are below average looking.

Emma can't sing
Her voice sounds awful on the clips I've heard anyway
Autotuned to death
They should have cast a real singer or at least had her lip sync

This movie is just like everything else, some will like it some will not.
Mr. CSD went to the theater last eve and saw this movie and we enjoyed it.
I personally do not like the Gaston or LaFou character but I never have and it has nothing to do with the actors themselves.
I just do not like violent, selfish, cheating, lying characters in anything.

They're villians. Villians normally don't have good character traits.

Saw it this afternoon and really enjoyed it. I thought the cast did very well. They made a few changes from the animated movie. I felt very nostalgic watching it.

I realize takes on this/opinions, vary widely. I thought she was stunning and perfect. Very naturally beautiful.

And one of the things that so impressed me was the actors' singing their parts themselves. Thought they did a spectacular job. Not perfection vocally, but heartfelt. I was moved (and I am not easily moved).
