T'was watching a famous kid movie on Thursday, from the start, when it hit me about the double message, of the movie seen from a different view point.

Ie,

"An industrialist who toys with emotions of children and uses an agent provocateur to bring favorable world opinion upon himself."

Spoiler

Willy Wonka

In the 60's era of movies with spies running around all over the place, perhaps that is acceptable for such concepts to be in any flick.

But....is it? Really?

It takes an adult to notice these nuances. They go over the head of kids like they were lying down. But yeah, it's hard to miss.

I'm just glad my kids are all grown now. I was picky about what I'd let them watch back then, I'd throw the tv out today if I had young ones at home. Too many of those little sitcoms (especially on the kids networks) have kids talking back to their parents and the parents coming across as idiots, etc.
